July 2023 Tips - Photo Lineups

Police Photo Lineup with 4 white males

Eyewitnesses play a vital role in the administration of justice in this country. Their testimony can provide the key to identifying, charging, and convicting a suspect in a criminal case. At its most basic level, a police lineup involves placing a suspect among people not suspected of committing the crime (fillers) and asking the eyewitness if they can identify the perpetrator. This can be done using a live lineup of people or, as more commonly done in U.S. police departments, a lineup of photographs.

Through the Photo Management module of In-Synch RMS, users can perform photo searches, create missing and wanted posters, or generate photo lineups for their investigative case reports.

Using the built-in Advanced Search tool, users can select a variety of physical descriptors (Age/Age Range, Gender, Race, Ethnicity, Hair Color/Length/Style, Eye Color, Height, Weight, etc.) to find photos/individuals with matching results.

Two options for printing a photo lineup are Multi-Images or Single Images. Multi-Images will print up to 6 photos per page. Single Images will print 1 picture per page. Both options are available from the Posters drop-down list.
